Anton
Anton is the result of a close collaboration with the Danish design firm 3PART A/S. We brought new thoughts and ideas and asked them to apply these to our existing design concept for specialised tricycles.
The main focus we wanted to address are the following four -
-
Create a tricycle that the user does not have to mount
-
Safe driving for people with various kinds of disabilities
-
Comfort for the cyclist: comfortable seating; optimal balance in all road conditions; easy pedaling
-
Use of hi-tech materials, combined with a dynamic and modern design
The result is Anton - a tricycle which combines user friendliness, high comfort and safety into a modern and dynamic design concept.
-
No entering height. This means that the user can walk into the tricycle, sit down on then lift the feet on to the pedals. This way of mouting the cycle makes it a lot easier for users who have difficulties in lifting their legs.
-
Three wheels achieves the necessary stability under all driving conditions. One front wheel offers a narrow turning radius, so the cycle can be manoeuvred in tight places. The low center of gravity secures safe driving on uneven and sloping surfaces
-
The saddle is adjustable up/down and backwards/forwards. This means comfortable cycling, also for people with reduced use of the legs, back injury etc. If the cyclist feels uncomfortable when forcing ramps and curbs, they can easily reach the ground with their feet and walk the tricycle forwards. The backrest gives relief to the arms and shoulders, because the cyclist uses the combined strength of the back and the legs to pedal, instead of pulling with the arms at the handlebars.
